Acceptable Price
Solid Service & Happy Customers
The Right Tech
- PHP4 and/or PHP5
- mySQL database and phpMyAdmin (http://phpmyadmin.net) tools
- Mailing list tools
Solid Web Control Panel
No History of Mass Hacking

http://dreamhost.com: Solid prices + One click application installs + Google hosted apps by default.

http://godaddy.com: I prefer dreamhost, but a basic hosting account at godaddy is not that bad.; Do NOT sign up for any magical or automatic website making tools, just regular hosting.
